Why there's no free tier
Two of Calorite's core features — AI photo scans and AI food search — call a large language model behind the scenes every single time you use them. That's a real, per-use cost, not a one-time engineering cost that amortizes to zero.
A free tier generous enough to be genuinely useful for logging real meals, indefinitely, isn't something a small app can sustain while also paying for every one of those calls. Rather than nickel-and-dime individual features or quietly degrade the free experience, the subscription is what keeps the AI running for everyone using it — trial users included.

Handled entirely by the App Store or Google Play
Calorite never sees or stores your payment details. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the current period ends, and refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies. Manage or cancel any time from your phone's own store account settings.
